Color Attraction
What Is Color?
We perceive color just as we perceive taste.
In 1666, English scientist Sir Isaac Newton discovered that when pure white light is passed through a prism, it separates into all of the visible colors. Newton also found that each color is comprised of a single wavelength and cannot be separated any further into other colors.
Similarly, when we look at a scene, our visual nerves register color in terms of the attributes of color: the amount of green-or-red; the amount of blue-or-yellow; and the brightness.
The Psychological Effects of Color
Scientists, doctors and mental health professionals have been studying the correlation between color and mood for years. Many now believe that colors cannot only cause emotional reactions, but can also correct mood and well being.
Recent studies suggest that we don’t actually see color, but “feel” it instead. Scientists now believe that each individual “feels” color in their heart, and not their head.
Colors behave in three basic ways: active, passive and neutral.
While perceptions of color are somewhat subjective, there are some color effects that have universal meaning. Colors in the red area of the color spectrum are known as warm colors and include red, orange, and yellow. These warm colors evoke emotions ranging from feelings of warmth and comfort to feelings of anger and hostility.
Colors on the blue side of the spectrum are known as cool colors and include blue, purple, and green. These colors are often described as calm, but can also call to mind feelings of sadness or indifference.

I love this post. Wow! And I just noticed that my favorite color is shared by at least one other voter.
Anyhow, politically, I can appreciate that you did not list all of the attributes of “black” negatively or all of “white” positively. I doubt you were interested in the politics of color here, but as you implicitly suggest, there is value being reflected in our choices–even which colors we like.

I saw a special on the Discovery Channel or National Geographic or the like on the senses. There were people whose brains had been wired a little differently from the average brain. They could taste certain colors, numbers, and shapes. Certain sounds produced various images. Can you imagine seeing green and feeling a sharp point on your body or saying “seven” and tasting something sweet?

That is intriguing. I’ll have to look that segment up. It’s almost like the House episode where the pilot started to hear color. I didn’t know that it could possibly exist.
The mind is very interesting and complicated body part I must say, in which I use to much at times lol.

Can you recommend a sightseeing tour?

Sorry for the late reply, but your comment went into my spam folder.
It would all have to depend where you are going, but Apple tours are great for group tours. I think going out and exploring new surroundings and experience new cultures is the best way to get around though. I really suggest going to Scotland because the country is beautiful and the people are extremely nice.
